I am so excited to share this session as my last for 2015--a perfect one to bring in the new year! I feel like I have come so far in these last few months learning about f-stops, rule of thirds, ISO, photoshop, culling, light room, lighting, shooting wide open, setting up a studio, iris enhancement, split toning, bokeh, white balance, aperture, shutter speed....and the list goes on!
I have genuinely enjoyed every smile, blog post, laugh, pose, crying baby, late night editing session, facebook post--and most of all, every family I have met! It has truly been an honor to work with all of these beautiful families and to capture precious moments to be cherished for years to come. Above all, I love preserving these memories for my clients so that they may be able to reflect on these photos as time slips away and their children start high school, have their heartbroken, begin to drive, move to college, experience success, experience failure, start their career, get married, and have children of their own in what feels like 1/125 of a second (see what I did there?) Photography has been such an unexpected blessing in my life! I feel that I have learned to experience life more fully since I discovered my love for this art. I am looking through a variety of lenses both literally and metaphorically and it has changed me. I am experiencing beauty in ways I never imagined possible--and for that, I am eternally grateful. Thank you to all my families for choosing me as your photographer

Meet the Thomas family! I LOVED taking their photos on my hour lunch break at Busse Forest Preserve right down the street from my work. Tricia (the one with the adorable 9 year old son) and I went to grad school together and now we even get to work together on Saturdays. I always enjoy the time I get to spend with her. She has such a bubbly personality and is one of the most selfless people you will meet. She has a big heart for helping people and works hard for her family. Her kindness and smile are infectious and I have loved getting to know her the last several years. When she first asked me to do her family photos as a Christmas gift for her soon-to-be-in-laws, I couldn't have been more excited! I loved getting to capture the care-free and laid back spirits of this family. Gosh I LOVE MY JOB!
